Practice FAQ
Welcome to our practice, Resolve Psychiatry. The following information answer the most frequently asked questions. If you have further questions, or would like to schedule an appointment, please Contact Us.
Initial evaluations: You consent for yourself/your child to receive a comprehensive diagnostic assessment. All intake documents must be completed prior to the evaluation and a credit card must be uploaded to our electronic medical record Luminello. Any cancellation less than 24 hours in advance and/no show will be subject to a cancellation fee, which will need to be paid prior to any appointment being rescheduled. At the end of the evaluation, we will mutually decide if we will continue treatment together. The initial evaluation includes a 60-75 minute in-person or virtual interview plus any additional phone calls or document review of prior treatment.
Please note, as a general practice rule we DO NOT prescribed any controlled substances on an initial evaluation. If you are being prescribed a controlled substance by another provider we will require you to sign a release of information for us to discuss your treatment with that provider, prior to prescribing controlled substances. Any individual who is prescribed a controlled substance must be seen in-person at least once per federal regulations.
●●Note, we do not have admitting privileges, nor are we affiliated with or on staff at any hospital. Should we deem more intensive services are needed than we can provide, we will do our best to ensure safety and obtain the appropriate level of care. We cannot guarantee the receipt or quality of care that other entities provide.
Minors/Young adults with 3rd party payments: For all minors and young adults for whom someone else is paying for treatment we require the parent, guardian or individual paying for services to create a luminello portal account and have an active credit card on file.
Payment Policies: Fees are due and payable upon completion of each visit with cash, check, or credit card. You must have a valid credit card on file at all times regardless of how you wish to pay prior to any scheduled appointment. Please make checks payable to Resolve Psychiatry and include the patient’s full name on the check. A $50 fee will be charged for same day cancellations. A $150 fee will be charged for no-shows. Please notify your clinician if you are going to be late for your appointment. For 30-minute medication management appointments, if you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment will be rescheduled and you will be charged a $50 fee.
The practice does not deal directly with insurance carriers. Your invoice statement will include all necessary information for insurance claims reimbursement for an out-of-network provider. Please contact your individual insurance provider for details and reimbursement rates specific to your policy.
Ongoing clinical services: At the beginning of treatment, you should expect to be seen at least monthly for medication management. When symptoms have been stable and no medication changes are being made, you and your clinician can discuss reducing session frequency. Each patient needs to be seen at minimum every 90-120 days depending on what the clinician deems an appropriate frequency of services.
Telehealth: We provide services via telehealth and in-person. The same cancellation and no-show fees apply to telehealth as stated above under “Payment Policies”. As stated above, at least one in-person visit is required prior to prescribing controlled substances. Also, your provider may feel that telehealth services are not appropriate and may request that you attend at least one appointment in-person. If this is not feasible, we may make referrals to outside providers.
Treatment termination: The practice reserves the right to terminate treatment at any time with appropriate referrals. Reasons for termination include but are not limited to: unpaid balances, needing a higher level of care, inappropriate behavior, and loss to contact.
Collaboration of care: Our practice generally provides only medication management. We will work collaboratively with your therapist if you have one upon your consent to create a personalized and effective treatment plan for you. If you do not have a therapist, we may recommend you see a therapist and can assist you with referrals.
Confidentiality: There is no guarantee of confidentiality under the following conditions:
● If we suspect you/your child are/is in imminent danger of harm to self or others, or a child or elderly person is being abused or neglected (as we are mandated reporters).
● If a court orders a release of information.
● If you initiate a malpractice lawsuit, or a billing dispute with a financial institution.
● If your insurance company requests to review your/your child’s case.
● If you pay by credit card, Dr. Marino’s name will appear on your credit card statement.
● If you do not pay your bill, your balance due statement (including diagnostic and procedural codes) may be sent to a collections agency or other responsible party.
● Between practice clinicians, administrative staff, or colleagues with whom we consult professionally.
